[I get in free since I'm a student, but eh, why waste the time on the small fry? Not an avid fisher, but you always got to go for the big'n, you know?]
TV’s got cable; set there, but the thing is that the first game’s on pay-per-view. So that’s a no-go for me.
Though I discovered a website that I could watch the game simulation of the live game; after watching a bit, kinda thought, well, ESPN.com could’ve worked. But the game just started, so I was practically desperate to get the info on the game. Hah.

Totally recommend it after watching the game from there. Though sure it may be boring for a while, but it’s better than missing your favorite teams game altogether.
As for the game itself, what I got from it, since I didn’t watch it live, I could get a glimpse of a few things:
- Colt McCoy: $$$, straight money when it comes to where the ball needs to be; goes to show how he doesn’t have the NCAA record for highest QB completion percentage in a season with 77.6%
- The McCoy-to-Shipley connection's off and running once again; 8 catches, 180 yards for the 6-year Senior. (6th year was granted after attaining injuries.)
- Upcoming freshman QB Garrett Gilbert looks like he could do a few things, not just throw the football; ran for a score during “mop-up duty” after McCoy was finished for the night; 21-29, 317 yds. & 2 TDs.
This season really looks like its a promising one; if you’re a follower of UT football, you always, and I mean ALWAYS have to expect BIG things for the upcoming year; it’s an absolute must.
Especially once I hear that back home in the D/FW area; Cowboys Stadium; OU gets bamboozled by BYU in Arlington, losing the first game of the season 14-13. Nat’l Championship hopes for the Sooners: down the drain. Then you get a double whammy with former Heisman winner and again hopeful (-ly not.) Sam Bradford gets slammed by a BYU D-lineman to the ground; injuring his shoulder. Hear it’s probably season-ending, though their peeps are not for sure.
But hey, the season’s young. It’s not like the ‘Horns don’t have anything to say about it.
